Every so often you find a gem like this, and just are forced to marvel at the insanity of it. First of all we have Morton Downey Jr, the biggest ass known to man. Famous for screaming at his guests until they cried and chain smoking during his shows. The second issue is the fact that this Jim Wilson has nothing but facts and reality backing him up and yet he looks like nothing but a complaining liar. One of the greatest heels EVER, Dr Death - David Schultz is about as anti gay and racist as a person can be without actually using slurs.

Cap't Lou and Dr D destroy the ideas that wrestling match results are pre-determined and the wrestlers Cut themselves to bleed. These clips just go to show you that you can make an argument for anything if you can just dominate the conversation. I felt like I was watching Fox News when i first saw this.

This is one of the best clips I have seen on Youtube. That is such an intimidating environment for Jim WIlson to be in. He damn near got slapped by Dr D. And that guy was insane. I wonder why he wasnt wrestling by the time this was filmed? This was from 1986 I'm guessing making him about 31.

I remember watching this when I was 13 or so... Great stuff.. Jim Wilson wasn't a total liar, but he vastly inflated his credentials when it came to being blackballed...

He was an All American lineman at Georgia (actually Vince Dooley's first All American there, so he was a good football player for sure) and had a cup of coffee in the pros.. but as a wrestler he was never more than an underneath guy... big guy that promoters at that time liked because of his legit sports background, but he never ever got above a prelim or middle of the show level because frankly he was never that good..

As for being propositioned, I totally believe that.. Jim Barnett in Georgia was a well known power broker in wrestling for years, and his fondness for men was equally well known.. but regardless of whether he slept with Barnett or not his chances of making it were slim to none, because like Paul Heyman (Dangerously), and Dennis Coraluzzo said, he just wasn't that good.

His book Chokehold, however, was fascinating reading if you are into wrestling history books.

The fact Jim wasn't that great makes it easier to try to force him into things. You can't walk up to a big star like dr D and try to get him, but if you are holding on to your job by a string and need money but aren't really guaranteed work then you would be a prime candidate to try ... Persuading to have sex.

I didn't see Paul Heyman in this, where is he?

Oh I agree there is no doubt Barnett propositioned him, but my point is even if he got a "break" by sleeping with him it would not have made much difference long term for his success in wrestling due to his inherent lack of skill as a wrestler...

Paul E was on the phone..i think 2nd clip..

Yes but just because he didnt have all that much of a career to lose doesnt make Barnett any less of a degenerate. But Yes, Jim Wilson make it sound like something was taken away from him, when It was really more of an opportunity to get some work that he wouldnt have had anyway.

A part of the reason for the debate is because the outcome is always predetermined. Most of the moves are real. It is impossible to fake the majority of the moves. However, people cannot get past the fact that some of it is not real. They do not help themselves when you have a guy like Rey Mysterio defeating The Big Show.
