Before the NBA season finally got started all that was said was the New York Knicks are going to be a factor. They had a front line that could match up against anyone with Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler, and Amare Stoudemire. The thing that was forgotten was who was going to be the leader and the point guard on this team.
The Knicks right now are 6-10 on the season, Stoudemire is unhappy, and rumors are out there that head coach Mike D'Antoni is on a short sting. Were the New York Knicks over sold by the so called NBA experts out there?
The Knicks are hoping that the return of Baron Davis will be the answer. The Knicks are putting their seasno in the hands of a guy who has not played in a while and has mileage on him. They also signed Mike Bibby who has not been a factor at all.
Teams in the NBA are taking Amare out of the game and his frustration level is showing. The team needs a pure point guard to lead the offense and the New York Knicks do not have that. Yes they do have one of the best front courts in the league but they do not have anyone to run the team or to get these guys the ball.
Is is time for the Knicks to make a coaching change? Is Mike D'Antoni the problem with this team? The problem is not the head coach, Stoudemire, it is the lack of productive guards on this team. The New York Knicks need a point guard and need it badly.
