View Full Version : Knicks toasted by Heat 104-94, Down 2-0.

The Knicks really needed this one and they couldn't get the job done tonight in Miami. Carmelo Anthony lived up to his Game 1 performence by putting up 30 points, 9 rebounds and a steal. The Knicks didn't play as terribly on the defensive side of the ball as they did in Game 1. That performence was in part to the return of the defensive leader Tyson Chandler. But it wasnt enough for a Knicks win because the Miami Big 3 had a night of their own. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh Monday night, as they combined for 65 points of the Miami 104 total points. The big turning point of the game came in the 3rd quarter when James scored eight points in the period, including four straight points on driving layups to put the Heat up 67-56 with 6:01 remaining. The Knicks called a timeout to try to regain their composure, but they never could. From then on the Heat was on the Knicks and it was too much. Now the Knicks are 2-0 down in the series.
The main reasons for the loss tonight in Miami was the injury to Iman Shumpert. A key part in the Knicks defense was lost tonight and the Heat exploited it. Shumpert who usually guards Wade, had nobody on him tonight. Wade scored 25 points, had 4 assists and grabbed 4 rebounds. Another weak part in tonights game was the limited amount of free throws the Knicks had. The Knicks only took 19 free throws in the game and most of them came in the 4th Quarter. The Heat have been controling the tempo on both sides of the court and it shows in their 2-0 series lead.
Game 3 is Thursday night at Madison Square Garden, it's a must win for the Knicks to have a chance in this series.
