View Full Version : Ovechkin scores late, Caps win 3-2.

With one single play, Caps star Alex Ovechkin managed to climb his way out of coach Dale Hunter's dog house and silence the Madison Square Garden Crowd. He ended up scoring the game winner for the Capitals on a power play where Brad Richards committed a stupid and unnecessary penalty. It wasn't all negative for the Blue shirts tonight as they got back Brian Boyle. Boyle centered the teamís third line between wingers Ruslan Fedotenko and Brandon Prust. He and that whole line skated well throughout the whole game. The major turning point in the game was when Stu Bickel comitted s turnover in the Rangers zone. After Bickel coughed the puck up along the boards, Washington executed a nice tic-tac-toe passing play to set up veteran Mike Knuble at the right post for a 1-0 Caps lead at 12:20 of the first. From then on the Capitals controlled the game. It ended up in a 3-2 defeat for the Rangers.
Now with the series tied up at 1 and heading back to Washington, I feel that Game 3 is a must win for the Rangers to get their confidence up. Game 3 is Wensday in D.C around 7.
