    Jets/Giants 2014 NFL Draft Preview

The 2013-2014 NFL season was a great one. The Seahawks destroyed the Broncos and took the Lombardi Trophy back to Seattle. The 2014 NFL draft begins on May 8th with the 1st round, May 9th is the 2nd and 3rd round and May 10th is Rounds 4-7. There are some big names in this years draft class and it will be a great one to watch.

The New York Giants hold the 12th overall pick and the New York Jets have the 18th overall pick. Lets begin with the Giants...

Last season was a disaster. They went 7-9 and Eli Manning was awful. He threw 27 interceptions and the offensive line did not protect him. His QB rating was the lowest since his rookie season in 2004. The Giants will bounce back this year and Eli will earn comeback player of the year. The Giants have made some big moves in the free agency and have added key players to help them win again. Big name players such as RB Rashad Jennings (signed for 4 years), LB Jon Beason (resigned for 3 years), CB Walter Thurmond (agreed to a 1-year deal), and finally CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (signed a 5-year deal). The Giants are in it to win it this year. I believe they will have a solid season in 2014 and make the playoffs.

    The New York Jets...
The Jets went 8-8 last season. QB Mark Sanchez was injured in the last preseason game and missed the entire 2013 season with a shoulder injury. Rookie QB Geno Smith, a 2nd round pick in the 2013 draft, started all 16 games for the Jets last year. Many people had the Jets winning between 4 and 6 games. They went 8-8. They managed to win some games. It was a roller coaster of a season. The Jets were inconsistent and some games they looked great and other games it was difficult to watch. The free agency this year was not anything special. The cap had plenty of room and they had a ton of money to spend. Day 1 of Free Agency...nothing. Day 2, WR Eric Decker signs with the Jets. Finally a WR. Yes catching passes from Manning is different then Geno but it is CERTAINLY an upgrade. The Jets starting CB are Kyle Wilson and Dee Milliner. That's scary. There were talks of Revis coming back to play for the Jets after he was released from Tampa, he said " He loves playing for Rex." Then Revis goes up to New England to play for the Patriots. CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was available but the Giants signed him before the Jets could get a hold of him. Sanchez is released, Vick is brought in on a 1-year deal. Vick is injury prone and brings unwanted attention because of his past. Owner Woody Johnsons loves the headlines. They should of brought in a veteran who can guide Geno or a young kid that can compete. The Jets have 12 picks in this years draft, plenty of cap space, few signings. Will the circus continue?

I believe the Giants will be looking for an Offensive lineman in the 1st round. Eli was getting tossed around last season. The Jets will probably draft a Wide Receiver or a Corner. Kyle Wilson and Dee Milliner will not get the job done.

Below is the 2014 Draft...What team will draft DE Jadeveon Clowney? WR Sammy Watkins? QB's Blake Bortles, Teddy Bridgewater, and Johnny Manziel? OT Greg Robinson?
